Quercetin - This natural pigment has powerful antioxidant and histamine blocking abilities. When looked at in a lab, quercetin lessens the histamine that immune cells create. while this is not known to work the same in vitro yet, it is evidence that quercetin MAY be a herbal allergy remedy that works.

Now, much more research needs to be conducted to corroborate the efficacy and the safety of these herbal remedies for allergies. Furthermore, it is necessary that you speak with a doctor or herbal professional before taking any of these herbs for hay fever. A woman pregnant or nursing shouldn’t use any medicine, natural or man-made without expressed permission from a licensed family doctor. Spotting Problem Skin Care Products

* Watch for artificial colors - Heavily dyed products often contain lots of artificial colors. In addition, they may need additional chemicals to maintain the color and the freshness of the skin care products. Many people think artificial colors and fragrances are the same. In reality, however, artificial fragrances are less of an issue because they are quite derived from natural extracts and then chemically processed. These extracts come in low concentrations and are often not major allergens. (There are, of course, exceptions to this.) However, Bright blues and yellows usually indicate serious levels of preservatives and chemical dyes.

* Examine the size of your mineral makeup powder - If your mineral makeup boasts microscopic particles, back off. While mineral makeup is great for your skin, it is not necessarily ideal inside it. Microscopic particles (nanoparticles) can be absorbed by your skin. Which may result in unpleasant allergic reactions. Additionally, mineral makeup has not been tested for the effects of epidermal absorption. As a result, there is not a whole bunch of information about the long term effects of this type of unintended absorption. Mineral makeup with conventionally sized particles will not be absorbed in this fashion.

Skin care products can come in many forms and fashions. Everyone has personal favorites. This should not cloud your judgment about the quality of your skin care products though. Always keep an eye out for the fakes and make sure that your skin care product regimen is truly the best for you.

Effective Guidelines For Avoiding Allergens

Allergies are both annoying, costly and at times embarrassing, so here are some ways in which you are able to limit the affect of allergic reactions on your life:

Lets’ start really simple. Frequently clean and vacuum your living and work areas. Occassionally allergies are caused by the air disturbance created from cleaning, however cleaning a few times per week overall can really help reduce the affects of allergies in the long run. Having a vacuum cleaner that contains a built in air filter would be wise too. After you finish cleaning you may want to leave the house for a while whilst the dust settles. You should lower the amount of dust mites present in your household by ensuring you both vacuum along and dust.

Consider just how much time you spend with animals and pets. Ban pets from your bedroom at the very least as allowing them there puts you at considerable risk even if they are your best friend. Obviously minimise your contact as far as possible with:animal saliva, fur and dead skin (not that you’d wnat to touch them too much).

Make sure you try to reduce the level of mold in your house by reducing the moisture levels. By lowering the amount of moisture and the general humidity level in your house especially in the bathroom and kitchen you can greatly lower the likelihood of mold developing. Using a home dehumidifier is highly recommended (ebac dehumidifiers and delonghi dehumidifiers come highly recommended). Also make sure that there are no leaking pipes and clean surfaces often with a disenfectant.

If you have ever seen pollen on the surface of your window sill or frame then of course you would be wise to keep windows firmly shut. Instead have your air conditioing unit running and try to use one that has an easily cleanable air filter.

If you are intending to go out for the day then ensure that you check the pollen count for your chosen destination. Between 10am and 4pm you should try to avoid being outdoors when pollen count will be at its peak. You should also ensure that windows are tightly shut when going for a drive.

If there are high winds and high humidity try to stay inside as pollen and dust are more likely to be present then. Try travelling outside of the peak times mentioned also as this will help avoid poorer air quality. You may even wish to consider wearing a face mask if you really suffer a great deal. After getting home from a day out take a shower soon to get rid of dust and pollen that might have gathered on your skin.

When going on holiday make sure that you also check the pollen count at the destination and be especially aware that you may need to take particular care when going to tropical detinations. Due to excess moisture these may then have raised levels of mold spores.

You can avoid plenty of suffering by simply following these common sense guidelines.
